The Epic Of Gilgamesh Essay - 1906 Words

Character is built in several different ways. Some may view character as how one handles a certain hectic situation or how well one person treats another. A true definition character contains these elements, but one’s character is built and developed mainly on how one picks and chooses his time to act and his time to wait. This definition refers to restraint and discipline. Gilgamesh and Homer’s The Odyssey uses many instances in which the main characters must use incredible restraint to protect not only themselves, but also the ones they care for and love. Although both stories use this theme of self-control and discipline to develop certain personalities, each one tells a different account of how these characters are viewed by their†¦show more content†¦Since this was the prevailing opinions, the authors, few may it be, tended to define their heroes as men of quick, vicious action. Those who hesitated were run over by those who didn’t. Character was bu ilt based on one’s ability to act quickly and without uncertainty. Gilgamesh was involved in several situations in which he could choose to wait and act later or push forward and complete the task at hand. Gilgamesh’s brother, Enkidu, also did not use restraint in several of his performances. The very first instance of Enkidu doing such is when he is tempted by the harlot. Enkidu is half man and half beast when this happens. â€Å"There he is. Now, woman, make your breasts bare, have no shame, do not delay, but welcome his love†¦ She was not ashamed to take him, she made herself naked and welcomed his eagerness† (Gilgamesh 20). Enkidu did not refrain in the least from leaving his animal ways to go to the tempting woman. When he tried to return to the beast after his six days of passion, they rejected him, for he was now fully human. Because of his lack of will-power, Enkidu lost his life in the wild, but he also gained his life in the manly world. His character as a human was reinforced and was now stronger and wiser than before. A second example of a lack of patience comes from Gilgamesh in his decision to travel into the Cedar Forest and fight the terrible Humbaba. The Dramatic Monologues of Robert Browning Essay - 2233 Words

The Dramatic Monologues of Robert Browning Consider the range of characterisation in Browning’s dramatic monologues and the poetic methods he employs to portray his speakers. Some are written in rhyming verse, use metaphors, et cetera, but for what reason? What is the writer trying to achieve and how successful is he? Robert Browning (1812-1889) was an English poet noted for his mastery of dramatic monologue. He was born in London, the son of a wealthy clerk at the bank of England, he received scant formal education but had access to his father’s large library of about 6,000 volumes. Though initially unsuccessful as a poet and financially dependent on his family until well into adulthood Browning was to become a celebrated†¦show more content†¦The speaker in ‘Porphyria’s Lover’ is possessive, a psychopath without conscience over his actions, though this is not entirely evident to the reader at first due to the steady structure and poetic language used at the beginning of the poem. Browning has used the rhyme scheme to help form the reader’s impression of the speaker, it is a rigid 5-line scheme but well concealed by using enjambment to lead one line into the next, and by the absence of separate stanzas to divide the poem. This presents a slow constant rh ythm, which tells the reader the speaker is calm. The poem flows like a continuous train of thought, the speaker is obviously contemplates and is deliberate in his actions. This is why we are shocked when the speaker, in the same tone, tells us, ‘†¦all her hair In one long yellow string I wound Three times her little throat around And strangled her.’ The lack of emotion which the steady rhythm conveys is very important in the characterisation of the speaker as it shows the speakers state of mind. Had the rhythm broken and quickened at dramatic moments the speaker would seem more impulsive and insane, but instead his calm mediated manner makes him almost a pathetic figure. He arouses pity, it seems as if he cannot recognise that he has done wrong, he is a man at peace with his actions. Though Browning surprises the reader with the murder of Porphyria, the imagery used at the beginning of the poemShow MoreRelatedRobert Browning and the Dramatic Monologue1390 Words   |  6 Pages2004 Robert Browning and the Dramatic Monologue Controlling Purpose: to analyze selected works of Robert Browning. Organize Wise Business Plan Effective Management

Question: Discuss about theOrganize Wise Business Planfor Effective Management. Answer: Management Team Any business requires an effective management team that can ensure effective management of the operations of the business. Effective management will ensure that there is efficient communication all through the organization. Two-way communication in the organization means that the members of the organization will be updated on the mission, vision, and values of the organization (Lee Ariely 2006). The advantage here is that the management can tailor the culture of the organization to ensure that it befits it. Moreover, the management plays the role of coordinating the efforts of all the members of the organization to meet organizational objectives. Without an efficient management team, achieving organizational objectives can become harder to achieve. Therefore, for this company, there is a need to select managers that can solicit the support of the entire organization. Having the support of the entire employee fraternity can be instrumental towards having an efficient and effective ma nagement team. Professional Advisors Independent Contractors Brine (2006) believes that there is value in an organization understanding its clients because it provides the opportunity to know their preferences and likes. An advantage that accompanies this is the fact that the organization can tailor its products to meet these requirements. Organize Wise is an organization that will be equipped with at least two professional advisors who will be tasked with the duty of ensuring that the organization can meet the specifications of the clients regarding enhancing arrangements in organizations. The advisors will be providing guidelines that the organization will follow while rendering its services. Moreover, the organization will have access to independent contractors who will provide casual employees who will handle the heavy lifting and arrangement of the client companies. These casual workers will also handle the cleaning jobs in the client organizations making the arrangement tasks much easier. Stakeholders The clients of the organization are key stakeholders because they directly impact the survival of the organization. Without the clients, it is impossible for Organize Wise to operate. Moreover, they impact the profit margin of the company. Having a stable customer base will ensure that the company can generate steady profits (Trelewicz Volovich 2006). If the customer base proves weak, there is a chance that the organizations profits margin will suffer. The management of the company is also a primary stakeholder because they are responsible for the decisions that run the operations of the company. Without managers to guide the efforts of the employees, achieving goals and objectives can become an uphill task. Brief Organizational Structure The company will embrace teamwork instead a hierarchical structure. The primary reason behind this is that teams are more effective at attaining organizational goals as opposed to individual employees. The employees of the organization will be broken down into teams which will have different assignments. A team leader whose task will be to liaison with the management of the company will be present in every team. The leader will guide his team members towards specific set goals. A hierarchical structure threatens the flexibility of the employees which is an important feature in this company (Vinodrai 2006). Each team will also be assigned a different client and an independent contractor. The contractors will provide the team with casual workers who will enable the team to accomplish the arrangements and organization of the client companies to which they are attached. Industry and Market Analysis There is a need for every company to understand its market strengths and weaknesses since it allows the company to establish the value of its investments. For instance, if a company enters an industry that has high competition, there are numerous threats that the organization needs to consider. According to Michael Porters industry analysis, the threat of substitution is one of these factors. Thomas et al. (2014) describes it as one that involves the fact that the clients can obtain the same services that the organization is offering from another service provider at a lower price. That drives down the value of the services of the organization. Introduction of Industry, Strategic Group, and Market The organization lifestyle management industry is a relatively new industry and one that has been unexplored. Evidence of this is in the fact that there is limited literature on the subject. Following Michael Porters Industry analysis, this industry has a lower threat of substitution. Being an industry that has not been discovered by many, there are very few organizations that render this service (Nilsson Gustafsson 2006). The client organizations cannot approach the rivals of this company to get the same services at a lower price. Competition in the industry is also low which means that Organize Wise can have a large market share thereby promising high profits. However, the barriers to new entry are few which means that new entrants can easily enter and exit the market. That is a threat because it will increase competition and the threat of substitution. Organize Wise will have a strategic team whose task will be to formulate strategic plans to ensure that the strategic position of the organization is maintained. Industry Analysis via secondary Research (Size, Growth Rate, and Sales Projections) Every organization endeavors to grow and develop. That means that they will need the services that Organize Wise renders. Growth and expansion mean that client organizations need to optimize their resources for a maximum positive outcome. Having an effective organizational lifestyle is one way of attaining this (Massa Tucci 2013). Organize Wise seeks to improve the organizational lifestyle of its client companies by re-organizing the entire organization to increase the effectiveness of the company. Therefore, the organizational lifestyle management industry holds a lot of opportunity for Organize Wise. The company will have a steady flow of clients which will translate into steady income for the organization. Entry Strategy Entering the industry is always a big challenge for any organization because it greatly contributes to the future of the organization. The market entry strategy that this company will utilize is partnering which will ensure that the company can establish itself. Organize Wise will form a partnership with an already existing organization which already has a stable market share. The advantage here revolves around the fact that Organize Wise will have the opportunity to use the facilities of this company to establish itself (Mullins 2012). For instance, the partner may be the very first client of Organize Wise. The partner will also enable Organize Wise to reach other organizations providing a steady flow of customers. Product and Service Development Plan Overview of Products and Services Organize Wise will provide its clients with the service of organizing and optimizing the client organizations work environment. The purpose of this service is to revitalize the organization regarding increasing the effectiveness of the employee fraternity. Reorganizing the client organization entails rearranging the facilities of the company (Weiss et al. 2006). That includes the workstations of the employees and the overall layout of the organization. The advantage here is that it will allow the employees of the client company will have an easier time moving around the company making their work easier. The overall layout will also improve increasing the attractiveness of the organization improving the work environment (Lehmann 2006). That goes a long way towards increasing job satisfaction of the employees of the client organization. Resources, Capabilities, and Competencies Organize Wise will have investments in different sectors to boost the financial resources of the company. Sufficient resources will ensure that the organization can meet its needs. It will be able to fully remunerate its workforce thereby maintaining their motivation. The financial resources will also ensure that Organize Wise has a wider range of capabilities. That is, it will be able to deal with many clients at a go. Who Has Seen the Wind Meaning of Life Essay Example For Students

Who Has Seen the Wind: Meaning of Life Essay Who Has Seen the Wind: Meaning of Life Essay Mariusz Jakimik Miss Rende English ENG3A-05 March 11, 1997 From the time people are born, until they die, it is only a natural thing to want to keep learning about their life and to figure out why they were put on this earth. From the very beginning of life, babies want to touch and experience everything around them. Throughout the novel, Who Has Seen the Wind by W.O. Mitchell, Brian OConnal has found himself with a tremendous hunger to discover the real meaning of life. We will write a custom essay on Who Has Seen the Wind: Meaning of Life specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Clearly, then, Brian always searches for new ways to learn about the world he lives in. One of the things that Brian shows an interest in is God. Brian really wants to meet Him, not knowing that God is something that cannot be seen, for He is a spirit. Brian would say Lets go over to his place(7). Throughout the novel, Brian seems to be looking for God. He has his own image of God in his mind, thinking that God rides the vacuum cleaner(31). Brian learns the truth about God from different people like his parents, Saint Sammy, Mr. Hislop, his grandma, and his friends. He discovers that God is everywhere and in everyone, but He cannot be seen. Furthermore, Brian is very much interested, like many other children his age, about where living things come from. Being as young as he was, he always thought that God delivered babies. After Brian witnessed his very first birth, that of a rabbit, he became very confused and curious about what and how it happened. Brian had a very uncomfortable conversation with his dad, Gerald OConnal, about where babies come from: Remember I told you the pigeon grows inside the egg, the mother lays the egg, and it hatches? They dont with rabbits. Rabbits are different. The father plants a seed in the mother and the baby grows from it. When its time, they come out. Is that what he is doing when Yes Spalpeen, thats what he is doing.(161-162) This fascinated Brian very much. Unquestionably, everything that is born and lives, must eventually die. Death is an unavoidable fact of life, and cannot be escaped. The deaths in the novel start out from not very significant, to the very shocking ones. Brian was becoming aware of death but was not influenced very much from such deaths like the gopher, the rabbits and Mr. and Mrs. Wong. After his dog Jappys death, Brian realizes how fragile life is. It was a complete shock to him when his dad suddenly died. Brian did not know what to feel. It was as if Brians life was over, and he felt lost and lonely without his father. Brian learned that People were forever born, people forever died, and never were again. Fathers died, and sons were born. The prairie was forever, with its wind whispering for man, but for Brians father-never.(239) Thus, Brian begins to realize that the world is full of strange and unexplained things. Brian does not know why the two headed calf was born, so he concluded that it must have been Gods mistake. The runt pig was another abnormal experience for Brian. He felt sorry for it and wondered why such things are born, and he did not want Ab to kill it. You cant kill my runt pig(216), he said. Furthermore, Brian wanted to get to know the Young Ben better, because he felt a special connection to him. It was as though they had something in common. Brian felt that he could learn something from the Young Ben, something nobody else could teach him. Saint Sammy was another mysterious buy to Brian that teaches him about God. Saint Sammy was an outcast in town because he claimed that he knew God personally and had a special connection with Him. Throughout the novel, Brian satisfies his need to understand life more by experiencing many different situations. .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed , .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed .postImageUrl , .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed , .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed:hover , .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed:visited , .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed:active { border:0!important; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed:active , .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u7c5a7a77623c5f983ee5d0d340132eed:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Phantom of the Opera Essay He learns that life is very complicated and hard to comprehend. From the very beginning of life, babies want to touch and experience everything around them. Throughout the novel, Who Has Seen the Wind by W.O. Mitchell, Brian OConnal has found himself with a tremendous hunger to discover the real meaning of life. Throughout the novel, Brian satisfies his need to understand life more by experiencing many different situations. .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 , .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 .postImageUrl , .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 , .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862:hover , .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862:visited , .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862:active { border:0!important; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862:active , .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862 .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uccce0b09b1feab8c4b2a809ad3ac0862:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Recycling Essay He learns that life is very complicated and hard to comprehend. The neutralisation of Acids by Antacids Essay Example

The neutralisation of Acids by Antacids Paper An Investigation to See What Effects the Neutralisation of Acids by Antacids In this experiment I will be looking at what affects the rate of reaction in a chemical reaction between Hydrochloric acid and commercial antacids. I will be looking at one of the Rates of reaction, surface area, to see if a smaller surface area does speed up a reaction. The reason that I became interested in this experiment is that I have been suffering from terrible indigestion of late and was wondering what would affect the efficiency of the tablets. Indigestion is a common condition caused by excess (or too strong) acid in the stomach, using antacids, usually a salt containing either an earth or alkali metal, always a base, neutralises the acid in the stomach relieving pain. In chemical reactions atoms are rearranged. This rearrangement (and the reaction) is caused by the collision of atoms. In gases and liquids, contact with solids and with each other millions of collisions occur very second. If all these were successful and caused a reaction then every reaction would be over in a millionth of a second. Because reactions arent over in such a quick speed one can presume that not all collisions are successful. To be successful a collision has to occur with enough energy and directly. A good analogy for this is bumper cars at a fair ground. A glancing hit does little but a head on collision hurts! Several things govern the rate of a reaction. I predict that as the surface area of one of the reactants (the tablet) increases so will the rates of reaction. This is because of the reasons discussed above. I set up the apparatus as below and used the equipment safely. 1. In this experiment I will be using 0. 25-M hydrochloric acid because antacid tablets are designed to work in our stomach, in which is hydrochloric acid. I was provided with 2M hydrochloric acid and so diluted 2. 5mls of acid in 17. 5mls of water. I found that 0. 25M acid works best through some preliminary work. 3. a) When using the two smaller sizes I added 15mls of the water to the powder so I didnt loose any reactants. b) When using larger surface area I just broke the tablets into their respective sizes. 4. I added the hydrochloric acid solution into the side arm tube and measured (in mls) how much was released by seeing how much water was displaced from the measuring tube. My results were as followed: My results contain one anomalous result. This occurs in the fifth minute of the 1/4 tablet experiment. It was more likely to have occurred by human error than contamination because the control was negative and it occurs half way through the test, not from the start. This graph shows the reaction between 0. 25m hydrochloric acid and Rennie antacid tablets. As you can see the reaction starts at a steady speed and slows down as the reaction progresses. This is because the reactants are used early on and the amount of reactant available toward the end of the reaction is small. At the top end of the graph the speed of reaction between a 1/4 and a 1/6 is small considering the huge increase in surface area. This is because the increase in surface are no longer affects the rate of reaction; the rule no longer applies. This is common with scientific laws, such as Hookes law. Conclusion Antacid tablets are designed to neutralise stomach pH to stop heartburn and indigestion. In my opinion my experiment went quite well. From my experiment one can see that the smaller surface area of a reactant the slower the reaction. This proves my prediction and the rates of reaction correct. The 1/6 tablet reacted far quicker than the whole one. There is little difference between the smallest two sizes of tablet, this is because the law starts not to apply. The pattern is that as the surface area increases so does the rate of reaction, up to a certain point. An anomalous result occurred in the 5th minute of the 1/4 tablet, but it think it was due to human error, as opposed to contamination. I believe that contamination would have affected the whole test, and it would have stood out form the other results, having either a faster or slower reaction rate than the others. The best place to test the tablet would be in the stomach, as this is where the tablets are designed to work, it would be interesting to see if the enzymes in the stomach aid or slow down the reaction, although I think it would make little difference as the enzyme present in the stomach, protease, is designed to break down protein into amino acids, thus would do little to catalyse the neutralisation of stomach acid. To obtain results closer to those which would occur in the stomach, the experiment would have to take place at 32i c. I would expect the reaction to occur at a faster rate, because the particles would be moving faster (this point is explained in further detail earlier in this report). The best way to obtain results similar to those that would occur in the stomach would be a computer simulation, this way I could set the testing environment how I wanted without having to obtain a stomach.

Best practices in health and safety communication Essay

Best practices in health and safety communication - Essay Example This manual addresses the following topics which are outlined below. The information seen on the web page indicates that the best practices manual is â€Å"not a standard or regulation and it creates no legal obligation.† It is basically advisory in nature. The web page indicates that the Occupational Safety and Health act as enforced by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA) or an OSHA-approved State Plan requires that employers are in compliance with safety and health standards that are hazard specific. It also requires that the employer provides safe working environment that are free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical injury. Employers can be treated as violating or disregarding their general duties if any recognized hazards exist and the necessary steps are not taken to address them. Information on the web page further indicates that failure to implement any of the guidelines in the Act is not in itself a violation of the â€Å"General Duty Clause†. The web page indicates that there is a Metalworking Fluids Standard Advisory Committee (MWFSAC) which appears to be part of OSHA.

Case Study Example The case study also looks at the performance of the restaurant in the last few months and makes recommendations as to how the restaurant can be well position in the existing market to gain competitive advantage (Cyrek, 2009). Information on the operational systems of Queens Head exposes key strengths and weaknesses as a food and beverage operation which must become the basis for making any recommendations for the future. The table below outlines the strengths and weaknesses of the company. Queens Head lack a clear tradition position within the market in which it competes. This point is clearly admitted by Cullum who sees the development of specific destination trade as the answer to future growth. Meanwhile, Davis (2005) emphasised the importance of having a clearly identified trading position as an effective tool for growth and competitiveness. This is because the trading position used by the company helps it to develop a competitive advantage which makes it become a preferred choice over competitors due to its position. It is possible to use either Porter’s generic strategic positions or Bowman’s strategy clock to identify a trading position which will become the strategy around which Queens Head will undertake its marketing. The graph above shows that Queens Head has failed to maintain a steady growth in sales in the past 12 months. This applies to both in food sales and drink sales, which is a very worrying situation the restaurant can be finding itself in now. This is because the sales made by the company determine its revenue inflow, which is also an important determinant of capital position for competing on the market through publicity and promotions (Agarwal and Helfat, 2009). As sales have not experienced any significant growth, it will be very difficult for the restaurant to have sufficient funds which are committed to market growth areas that are

Religion and Homophobia in Trinidad and Tobago Essay Example for Free

Religion and Homophobia in Trinidad and Tobago Essay As previously demonstrated, the data collected was graphically represented in order to highlight trends or anomalies. Figure 1 (Fig. 1) begins by showing that 36% of our sample supported same sex marriage, whilst 64% did not. Since non-support of same-sex marriage is used as our indicator of homophobia, approximately two-thirds (( 2)? (3 )) of our sample is considered homophobic. Whilst this suggests that a substantial proportion of our population is supportive of homosexuality, the majority is apparently homophobic. Thus, a standard was found, against which individual elements of the population can then be manipulated and analysed in a positivistic approach. Figure 2 shows that the gender of the non-supportive population was almost equally distributed, which suggests that perspective is gender neutral. This is surprising considering that gender commonly indicates differing perspectives, but may perhaps be attributed to the existence of homosexuality in both genders. Additionally, this is reflected in Fig 3. where the male only school, Naparima College is proportionately equal to the female only schools, Naparima Girls’ High School (NGHS), ASJA Girls’ College (ASJA) and St. Joseph’s Convent (SJC). Furthermore, Figure 4 shows that the average CSEC grades (which we will use as an indicator of education level) of the supporters approximately equalled that of the non-supporters. Therefore, neither gender, education level school has significant effect on our candidates’ perception of same-sex marriage. Continuing the search for factors that may affect the development of homophobia, Fig 5 outlines four further dimensions of social life, showing that, support of the legalisation of marijuana, alcohol consumption habits, history of altercations with the law, and family structure all had negligible effects because the proportions only slightly deviated from the norm. It is only when the dynamic of religion is introduced that anomalies become apparent. As illustrated in Figure 6, there is little variance between the individual religions, with Islam being marginally more homophobic, but, when religion is removed, as in the case of our secular candidates, the proportions are reversed and approximately two-thirds (( 2)? (3 )) of the secular candidates were supportive. Additionally, it was observed that, whilst Muslim candidates had the highest correlation to homophobia within our sample, the candidates from the Islamic school, ASJA Girls’ College –who would have been exposed to the institution for at least five years, a substantial portion of their lives-, had the lowest correlation to homophobia; the difference being approximately 10%. This is pertinent because it is also indicative of secularisation by differentiation wherein the non-religious sphere of life, education is separated from religion (Jose Casanova, 1994). In both instances of secularisation, homophobia was reduced. Building on the investigation of the influence of religion, religiosity was then compared to opinion using three common measures of religiosity. Figure 7 shows the relationship between frequency of visitation of place of worship and non-support, Figure 8 shows the frequency of private worship against non-support and Figure 8 shows the frequency of private study of religious texts versus non-support. All graphs yielded a positive gradient, began well below the average and ended well above it. This indicates, that as religiosity increases, so too does homophobia. This contrasts our previous observation that there were no trends amongst the various religions but verifies the implication that secularisation decreases homophobia. Careful consideration of the qualitative data compounds these assertions because, not only is religion openly and usually used as justification of homophobia, the candidates who were most fervently religious and enmeshed with their congregation were often most blatantly homophobic. Additionally, if the view of the religious leaders is to be taken as the consensus of the congregation, it would appear that most justify discrimination. However, there were cases in which the fervently religious advocated positively for same-sex marriages. The phenomena observed can be explained using a functionalist perspective in which religion serves as a method of maintaining social order through increasing solidarity within a mostly heterosexual population by segregating the homosexual, thereby providing a common ‘enemy,’ and instilling a set of values and norms in society. Also, religion may be viewed as encouraging more â€Å"productive† marriages in which childbirth is possible, thereby helping to sustain the birth-rate, working to aid the system of the family. When candidates are separated from the functions of religion, they are more likely to maintain a different set or norms, wherein homosexuals are equal to heterosexuals. Contrastingly, a Conflict perspective may be used in hich religion serves to justify the construction of a class society in which the heterosexuals are the ‘bourgeoisie’ and the homosexuals are the ‘proletariat. ’ By masking the foundation of power and exploitation in divine ruling, the heterosexuals are allowed to legitimize their position of superiority. When this illusion is removed and class consciousness attained, as in the case of secular candidates and candidates with little religiosity, the bourgeoisie can no longer legitimize their position, and so homophobia is reduced. Alternatively, if one is to utilize Weber’s theory of Rational Choice, one might suggest, that, perhaps candidates decided to follow the homophobic direction of their religious leaders, rationalizing that earning the support of the entire congregation was worth discriminating against a minority. This theory also serves to explain why candidates supported same-sex marriage, because the prevailing justification was a rationalisation that their (homosexuals) private life did not affect me (the candidate) negatively and was therefore not a problem. This also explains the anomaly of the few candidates who were enmeshed in non-supportive congregations but still supported same-sex marriages. Continuing the interpretivistic trend, Mead’s theory of Symbolic Interactionism may be applied in which the ascribed meanings of symbols encourage homophobia. For example, candidates who studied their holy texts daily were most likely to be non-supportive. They may ascribe that the text determines their values and that the text does not support homosexuality, therefore, they, identified as a follower of the text, does not support homosexuality. Another example may be the use of song references in their justification, wherein, candidates interpret the music to disapprove of homophobia and therefore, as listeners, they should also disapprove. Lastly, the use of homophobic slurs such as ‘fag’ in the language of the non-supporters suggests that homosexuality is unwanted, and communicates this to others who may interpret it as such, and develop the same opinion. Discussion of Findings In, Invitation to the sociology of religion, Zuckerman presents a functionalist approach in which we see how religion may affect social hange. He demonstrates a correlation between a decline in the influence of religion and an increase in the acceptance of homosexual relations suggesting that religion does indeed influence homophobia as determined from my research. Furthermore, he considered another form of discrimination, that is, racism in which again, religion resulted in the segregation of a minority, but also, where religion provided a powerful community through which resistance could grow. The strength and influence of these churches echoes the observation that the more enmeshed our subjects were in their religious congregations, the more homophobic they tended to be. Building on the methods by which religion could affect social life, the article, â€Å"Gays bash government on same-sex marriage,† presents a scenario in which religion has clearly moulded the opinion of a prominent member of our government to the point that it over-rode proper conduct. This crass act seems less surprising when it is observed that some candidates also paraphrased or quoted biblical passages in lieu of an explanation. The research paper, †Religion and public opinion of same-sex marriage,† also adds validation to our research because their results were strikingly similar to our own. They discovered, as I did, that a persons’ religiosity and not their specific religion was the prominent factor in influencing their view of same-sex marriage. Additionally, the article entitled, â€Å"J-FLAG Issues Statement on International Day Against Homophobia,† also verifies this conclusion by using statistics which showed that 56% believed homosexuality and Christianity were incompatible and that 82% believed that it was immoral. This, second study was conducted in Jamacia and as such, it is also more relevant to our research based in Trinidad; it should come as no surprise that their sample yielded a homophobic rate only marginally lower than our own at 59% as opposed to 64%. Finally, in relation to our final aim, the research paper, †Religion and public opinion of same-sex marriage,† also proves handy because they validate that no other standard demographic holds significant influence on a candidate’s opinion of same-sex marriage besides religiosity. Considering these observations, my main finding appears to be that religion does, in fact, play a significant role in developing homophobia within the Lower Six population of San Fernando. Additionally, three main inferences can be made: Firstly, that religion may develop homophobia by presenting a community in which homophobia may be justified and advertised as the norm, through interaction with the institution of government, or through symbolic interaction wherein the religious texts are interpreted as encouraging homophobia. Secondly, that religiosity is a much more significant factor than religious affiliation in developing homophobia, with religious affiliation being almost powerless in our study. Thirdly, we may infer that, whilst exposure to the media did have some effect on the development of homophobia as reflected in our qualitative data, by and large, religion is the major influence with no significant alternative factors appearing in our study. ? Limitations Whilst conducting my study, certain limitations were confronted. Chief amongst these was the cost effectiveness of conducting such a relatively large-scale survey consisting of over two hundred subjects. Adding to this difficulty was the statistical analysis in which a spreadsheet was necessary. Additionally, in order to balance the ratio of male to female respondents, the strata of Naparima College was over-represented since that was the school in which the most co-operation was met. However, since Naparima College proved to be a typical institution, for the purposes of our study, I believe that the integrity of the data was no compromised. Difficulty was also met in collecting and analysing secondary data sources as inquisitions at our public libraries proved fruitless and many of the recent, relevant research papers published were either costly, or restricted to members of certain institutions. Lastly, there may have been some, inherent instrument bias in my analysis of the qualitative data. Recommendations On completion of my research, certain recommendations have become apparent. The first being that a complete separation of the church and state must be accomplished in order to provide the allocation of same-sex marriages, and the second being that the institution of religion should be removed from society as it, in its many forms may a dangerous tool for inspiring discrimination. Conclusion Although it has been a lengthy road, it was a straight one, and, in summation, we can determine that there is indeed a clear relationship between religion and homophobia in which religion inspires the other through various ways. Furthermore, a person’s religiosity was shown to be the determining factor in influencing homophobia with no other influence being significant. ?

Finally, the actual staff should be sensible regarding their particular given responsibilities. For instance, John is designed for some type of computer perfectly and theres certainly one of his colleague that is not that considerably very good using computer. In the event that equally are called to try and do the same undertaking on computer their particular timeframe to try and do the job arent going to be same. Its very important to judge the blueprint and function a bit customer survey to get the effectiveness on the staff above the idea. Task 3.2 Undertake and document development activities as planned The actual Prepared development actions are because stick to: Training the employees: The actual staffs are educated using a task dependent work and punctually time frame. With the education they have discovered completely new techniques and using the sources they have discovered to be able to adapt to the revolutionary thoughts quickly. Organizing the study groups: The actual staffs are split in to research communities. The actual staffs doing work in the same sector is in the same collection so they can work on their particular professional areas jointly. Mentoring and Supervising: The actual staff are mentored and administered by the administrators plus the brand administrators. Theyve kept very good face for the staff to determine their particular advancement on their own so when friends. Consultation: Soon after each and every collection undertaking is performed the staff receive discussion off their brand administrators regarding their particular effectiveness and what they have to perform enhance their particular pace and accuracy. Task 3.3 Critically assessing the staff learning against original aims and objectives set in the development plan: Self-managed understanding, by way of my personal look at, provides each staff members a particular knowledge about what the organization needs from them. These people get to know what this company is actually low in for example experienced workers. Via subscribing to the collection instruction it assists these individuals comprehending the revolutionary approaches running a business and so they receive adapt to these individuals very easily. Via this technique in addition, they can study on their particular colleagues. Thus, the idea provides these individuals the liability to master just about every 2nd. Additionally they provide the option implement their particular thoughts talking about while using the brand administrators through the discussion sessions. The most beneficial section of this understanding method is actually that they dont have to research textbooks; they are able to study on individuals all over these individuals. Thus, in my look at Self-managed understanding is often an effective way to build up the staff for his or her particular and professional living. Task 3.4 Suitability of updating the PDP: The actual feedbacks and in-progress evaluation provided by the administrators and brand administrators ought to be consumed very critically plus the PDP connected with John along with other men and women ought to be up-to-date on the basis of those people feedbacks and evaluation. The actual feedbacks and testimonials demonstrate the industries where by John needs to receive developed and additionally, there are reviews regarding his powerful proficiency industries too. With the feedbacks, John is actually lacking is actually conversation and versatility. Thus, right now John is aware what he or she needs to work on increasingly more. He should enhance his conversation proficiency and look at getting effortless while using the completely new technologies. Increasing the versatility may very well be a tough undertaking regarding your ex nevertheless he can in addition have the feedbacks from his brand manager after having a certain time period. Thus, it is quite ideal to be able to update the PDP connected with John based on the feedbacks and in-progress testimonials hes got acquired. He needs to place initiatives to have better feedbacks when. Will help you your ex getting increasingly experienced and it will likewise guide your ex getting special offers. Task 4.1 Solutions to work-based problems: Through the PDP I bought a few work dependent difficulties for example regarding a short time My partner and I has been experiencing bored stiff doing the regime dependent is effective each day. Thus, My partner and I wanted my personal brand manager give us some more accountabilities. This extra some more responsibilities in my career. Id to be effective harder. Although my partner and I have been pleased with the idea considering that the monotony has been absent from us. The following trouble my partner and I has been going through has been communicating while using the guy people connected with my personal collection. The actual people were from different generation. My partner and I tried wasting a bit more time period while using the folk people. Which helped us a whole lot getting together with these individuals? One more trouble I bought has been certainly one of my personal collection associate has been very poor using computer expertise. Once we were given responsibilities related to computer many of us were concluding later. My partner and I made available your ex to present your ex a few lessons on computer proficiency within just my personal expertise. He gladly contracted and within just a short while he or she developed a whole lot. These are generally many of the difficulties my partner and I experienced in the course of PDP and my partner and I could resolve these individuals at the same time. Task 4.2 There are various styles of communication e.g. verbal, non-verbal, preverbal etc. But in order to communicate with various levels at work I think assertive communication style is the best one. The typical Supervisors can get in touch with the administrators by way of this way giving completely new directions and also demonstrating regard for them. The actual administrators can provide orders on the buyer assistants along with other staff throughout aggressive way. Via this way the minds on the group can get in touch with the lowest most respected member of staff on the group. Every person can learn every time completely new merchandise is going to be released. Just about every employee really feels their particular significance inside corporation. This hard drives these to work harder. There are many much more communications variations used through the work for example sign language. Although those people are simply just through the is effective. In order to get in touch with different stage, I do think aggressive conversation method is the foremost a single. Task 4.3 Time Management: Occasion administration is often a tough undertaking. This ought to be done by having a prepared way. While I have already been given the duty to stay demand on the brand for your 7 days, Ive got to handle my personal work time period. Ive got to become very frugal although picking out my personal transfer time period. Ive got to direct from the entrance through the busiest time period on the time. Let me also have to handle some time schedule to offer the employees a superb frugal work shifts to be effective alongside one another. As I was the brand manager for your 7 days, I want to seek the advice of the revolutionary employees to evaluate right now there effectiveness and My partner and I in addition really should mix up the time period schedule to present these individuals a way to work with more experienced and effective employees. The actual work-loads, my partner and I should try to portion throughout a smart way that the experienced workers are working for the most difficult responsibilities plus the additional workers understand from them.

A Review of the Communication and Leadership in Jusco Essay

The relationship is set up when the company regular operation. With the company growing, it will have more and more employees. So communication and leadership is really important. The relationship is harmony so that the employees will more effective, communication is fully reflected whether good or bad of the relationship between employees and employers. Leadership has a big role in here. We define leadership as the ability to influence a group toward the achievement of a vision or set of goals. Organizations need strong leadership and strong management for optimal effectiveness. We need leaders today to challenge the status quo, create visions of the future, and inspire organizational members to want to achieve the visions. (Stephen P. Robbins, 1998). Leadership is a management which manage staff to do the business, and make it clearly and more effective. 2. 1 Background of Jusco With Diaoyu Dao event came out, the relationship between Japan and China is become worse and worse. China even occur boycott Japanese goods last year. Many of Chinese people became mob to destroy Japanese enterprise. Most of patriotic personages were held the demonstration in different city in China. They boycotted Japanese goods so that all of Japanese companies were going down in China. Jusco is Japanese company; Jusco is short for Japan United Stores Company. The various of Jusco companies are subsidiaries of AEON CO. Ltd. There was a JUSCO in Shanghai before, but it was dropped down finally because of poor management. In Guangdong, Guangdong JUSCO Co. , Ltd used the name â€Å"JUSCO† to operate the first JUSCO at 1996. Now, there are 13 shops in Guangdong. It took the lead in the introduction of foreign advanced GMS (department store the supermarket) format mode, and in 2010 launched the SM (Food supermarket) formats. Guangdong JUSCO has a sound management system and in 2005 obtained the ISO9001: 2000 quality management system certification; national â€Å"green market† certification in 2007, was one of the first to obtain the certification of retail enterprises; 2010, ISO14001: 2004 environmental management system certification, the retail business is the first to pass the certification. Adhering to the â€Å"everything for customers† business philosophy, Guangdong JUSCO has been thought to provide customers with security, peace of mind and trust of goods, services and a comfortable shopping environment for the mission, so that customers enjoy shopping. Guangdong JUSCO business goods include: fashion clothing, household goods, sporting goods, home decorations, food, Japanese cuisine, fast food and other necessities. 2. 2 Research objectives 1. 2. 1 Definition of communication and leadership Communication is a slippery concept, and while we may casually use the word with some frequency, it is difficult to arrive at a precise definition that is agreeable to most of those who consider themselves communication scholars. Communication is so deeply rooted in human behaviors and the structures of society that it is difficult to think of social or behavioral events that are absent communication. Halavais, 2006). More and more countries open up their market in this modern world. Communication become very important to Jusco, due to relationship between Japan and China is getting worse. Leadership has been described as â€Å"a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a c ommon task. † (Chemers M. 1997). Leadership is easy to understand that organize a group of people to achieve a common goal. Under this global world, every organization is need cross-culture leadership. Cross-cultural psychology attempts to understand how individuals of different cultures interact with each other (Abbe, Gulick, & Herman, 2007). 1. 2. 2 To investigate the component for communications and leadership. Communications is a big problem in Jusco. This is common problem in China. AEON has been set up 18 Jusco in Guangdong, naturally, managers, leaders and employees all are Chinese. Otherwise, they must do the job under the working mode of AEON management. So communication sometimes is a big problem. Direction of communication is deciding how to communicate to each other. We further subdivide the vertical dimension into downward and upward directions. (R. L. Simpson, 1999) sometimes, most of sales do not will to talk to Jusco’s managers. And I know, Jusco managers also do not want to communicate to Japanese employers. It is even more badly when the DIAOYU DAO event happened. Japan and China are in stalemate. Leadership is mainly cross-culture leadership. 1. 2. 3 Further problem To find out further research opportunities for current problem. With the Japan and China become more and more hostility. We have to find out how does Japanese organization do in China. So we can research other Japanese company to have some more opportunities to compare Jusco. 1. 3 Research rationale I choose this topic because I was worked in Jusco as a red wine salesman last year, and I know this is Cross Culture Company, and its communication and leadership must be changed after the relation between China and Japan get worse. So I decide to use my MO knowledge to how it will be changed. Or keep the old style to manage. 2. Literature review 3. 3 Introduction Communication and leadership have a big role in management forever. Communication is decided whether make the company stay in the harmony situation. This makes the organization more effective and standard. Verbal communication is important to Jusco, but non-verbal communication is also important to it. Jusco is cross-culture organization; Chinese managers need to talk to Japanese senior management. After DIAOYU DAO event, the relation between Japan and China is getting worse, Japanese and Chinese cannot have a nice conversation. So I want to find out the difference of two stages. Leadership is an ability to influence a group toward the achievement of a vision or set of goals. However, not all the leaders are managers. Organizations need strong leadership and strong management for optimal effectiveness. So Jusco is the same. Jusco is customer-focused service operation. They have a lot of leaders in Jusco. Different apartment has different leader. However, a good leader can make it more effective. It also make customer more comfortable when customers shopping in Jusco. 3. 4 Main issue—communications Communication represents one of the most important tools that the leaders have at their disposal to perform their influencing of tasks. Its significance is such that some authors consider it as the â€Å"blood† that brings life to the organization. Paulo Nunes, 2011) In Jusco, communication is important thing, no matter employers or employees, they need to communicate to each other. Due to power distance is stay in the high level. Power distance is the extent to which the less powerful members of organizations and institutions (like the family) accept and expect that power is distributed un equally. (Gert Jan Hofstede, 1965) Japan is in the high level of Power distance index. So do Jusco, senior managers have some power to manage and ask employees to do the job. However, Jusco is customer-focused service operation. Sometimes, senior managers will ask others to serve customers not himself. They have their own duties. But they need to put customers at the first position. So this is the main problem in Jusco. And the communication is has the big usage for employers to avoid this situation happening. Communication has the general process. The key parts of this model are the sender, encoding, the message, the channel, decoding, the receiver, noise, and feedback. The sender starts a message by encoding a thought. The message is the real thing of the sender’s encoding. When we speak, the speech is message. Our writing is the message. The movements of our acting and the expressions on our face are the message when we gesture. One of the suitablekinds of communications is organizational communication. In organizational communication, there is one kind of mode for Jusco: Formal small-group networks. Formal organizational networks can be very complicated. There are three kinds in this mode, chain, wheel and all channel. The more effective criteria are the networks wheel and all channel. Jusco is wheel mode. For example, one manager is managing drink, wine and so on. 3. Main issue—Leadership Leadership has main two kinds of theories. One is trait theories of leadership, and it is focus on personal qualities and characteristics. By 1990s, after research, studies and analyses, the best leader is unlike the normal people. They are special. But the particular traits that characterized them varied a great deal from review to review. (S. A. Kirkpatrick, 1991) Significant relationships exis t between leadership and such individual traits as: intelligence, adjustment, extraversion, conscientiousness, openness to experience and general self-efficacy. While the trait theory of leadership has arisen again, its reemergence has not been accompanied by a corresponding increase in sophisticated conceptual frameworks. (Zaccaro, S. J. 2007). The other is behavioral theories. In response to the early criticisms of the trait approach, theorists began to research leadership as a set of behaviors, evaluating the behavior of successful leaders, determining behavior taxonomy, and identifying broad leadership styles. (Spillane, James P, 2004) The managerial grid model is also based on a behavioral theory. According to three styles: authoritarian, democratic, and laissez-faire. Lewin, Kurt, 1939). Normally, some leaders may compare traits and behaviors to manage; however, they are still failing to manage. As important as traits and behaviors are in identifying effective or ineffective leaders and they do not promises to success. 3. 6 Theories used in Jusco While the communication model used in Jusco, if managers can use this kind of skills, empl oyees can be pleased to accept the order and finish the job in a short time. Formal small-group networks is the normal communications mode exist in Jusco. I ever was a wine sales in Jusco, my group all are sales of wine. The wheel relies on a central figure out to act as the conduct for the entire group’s communication; it simulates the communication network you would find on a team with a strong leader. 2. 5 Conclusion Above the literature review, we can understand the theories of communication and leadership. And figure out which kind of model can be used in Jusco. However, something I can know more in the Jusco senior management. So Ican not ensure the how the solve the problem just by this simplified concepts. 3. Research methodology. 4. 7 overall research design Step 1 Select Jusco as the object of study. | Step 2 Use communication and leadership theories to clarify the usage of management system. | Step 3 Find materials about communication and leadership in Jusco. | Step 4 Organize the materials found before. | Step 5 Combine the viewpoints that have same directions. | Step 6 Add personal views in research paper. | Step 7 Come out the final research paper. | At first, you have to set up your research title. In this modern world, people pay attention to personal benefits from work, so how to make the communications effective and in a proper way can be a key element to achieve success for companies. And leadership is making the company keep the direction keep on the right way. And make the company get more effective and achieve the goals as fast as possible. This is why I choose communication and leadership in Jusco, especially in the specific stage, after the DIAOYU DAO event. After deciding what title is, I begin to search information about communication and leadership which can support my research, and then finding opinions about the communication and leadership system in Jusco. With collection of all the materials that I need in this paper, the step four is to organize them and find out what the authors’ opinions about communication and leadership in Jusco, even in Japanese organization. When clarifying the points from some experts. Communication has some usage for making the whole company staff harmony, and let the managersto know more about employees. Let the whole company become the one big thing, and stay in the high effective. At the end, you read all the references, and link the knowledge and make it to the net. Figuring out why the communication and leadership in Jusco is so important and which kinds of mode are fit for Jusco. 3. 2 Ways to conduct literature search Key words| Source| Finding | Cross-cultural competence in Army leaders| From library books| Abbe, A. , Gulick, L. E: other:______________ Q10:Do you often find nobody will be responsible for the job, how do Jusco take charge? Write down your opinion. Question no. 1 to question no. 3 are identify is communication important to the employers or sales in Jusco. I want to know is it some problem in communication in Jusco staff. It helps to clear my thoughts that whether communication is barriers in Jusco between the employees. Due to superior/subordinate relationship is really complicated. At the same time, according to the communication process, I want to find out which process is something wrong. Like question no. 1, it will give all the staff a shake. They maybe will suddenly realize we are lack of communication during the work. Question no. 2 is the same to question 1, just want to notice staff to think about the communication. The usage of question 3 is wanted to ask them whether communication will affect their work. What is the problem will come out if communication in a low level. Give something to them to think. And this serious of problems are more valuable after the DIAOYU DAO event come out. Due to Jusco is in embarrassing situation in China. Question no. 3 and question no. 4 are the same direction. After give 3 questions to wake you up and think about the communication in Jusco. Comparing their real situation in Jusco, and research the information about the communication is it works out. And does it effective or not. These two questions both need to write down your own opinion, your own thoughts. These are staff real thoughts. According to it, maybe the management in human behavior of Jusco can change the structure to make the whole Jusco has more effective. Question no. 5 and question no. 6 are transition question; it is from communication questions to leadership questions. Questions no. 5 and question no. 6 are concern about communication and leadership. It is not only asking staff the situation of communication, but also checks the leadership in Jusco. We can see the superficial current situation of leadership in Jusco. After I get the superficial information about the leadership, we will collect the information about evaluation of the effective. With the question no. 7, we check the standard of their effective. By this collection, we get this information and find out whether leadership in Jusco is good to use. Question no. 8 is mainly to check the sales and employees how to treat with their superior. Hence, it also evaluates harmony of communication between superior and subordinate. If the relation is harmony, it has a lot of effect to affect the leadership exercise power. Question no. 9 has connection with question no. 9; question no. 8 is mainly collecting the information from employers and sales in Jusco. We can see the truth about the real working situation by opinions of employees and sales. According to their view, we have to do some evaluations to check the leadershipeffective or not. Question no. 10 is helps Jusco to improve their situation. Jusco is customers first company, if this situation coming up, all of employers and managers have to serve customers first. This is vision of Jusco. If they all pass the job to others, no one serve customers. Customer will go away with his dissatisfaction and blame Jusco has the bad service. What the worse, he will complain or tell every friend he knows so that the bad image of Jusco has been set up. 3. 4 Sampling For sampling, I need to contact with Jusco. Each observation measures one or more targets, sampling have too methods and everyone should to be used in the proper way. They all are unique. They are demanded to suitable different situation become the characteristics difference. Jusco as the biggest retail corporation in Asia, in Guangdong, it also the Top 3 of retail corporation. So Jusco is a big corporation, I think Simple random sampling is fit for Jusco. In general, I put one Jusco as the whole, Equal to the probability of each individual to be able to get through one by one extraction method to extract a sample of each extract this sampling method is simple random sampling. Why I choose simple random sampling? Due to Jusco have 26 stores in Guangdong province. Their cope is too big, so I have pretended their probability is equal. Hence, I choose the random one store has regular scale to do this research. Even though, each Jusco has different sales, employees and managers. The mode of management in Jusco do not change, each Jusco is the same administrative mode, Advanced GMS – comprehensive department store supermarket retail business model. Normally, one GMS mode of Jusco has five hundred to one thousand staff. They divided into different departments. Each department I will find the 20 people to do this research. When they done their research, I gathering all the information, and continue to analysis. When I finished that, I will finish my goals and finish my all objective. 3. Data access and collection To do this research and make the sampling, I have to go to Jusco investigation in Guangdong province. However, you cannot go in the Jusco working area easily. It is lucky I was worked there before, I know the managers. With the top managers in supermarket agreement, I finally go into and do some survey. My main contact person is my friend who sells the red wine inside it. Conta ct people: Wang Hong 3. 6 Methods of data analysis After I finish my survey, I will use my organization behavior management and cross culture management to analysis Jusco. How to communication and leadership will happen in it. The further I will analysis is what will affect them after the DIAOYU DAO events. 3. 7 Research limitation As a full time student in Singapore, we have little time to do the research. Due to the time is too short, I do not have enough time to make the scope large, and make is simplified. At the same time, I still have another course; my time will become shorter and shorter. Under this reason, maybe my point of view will short for one side. Maybe leadership will gather more information than communications. In China many things are cannot show in the newspaper so the information collection is a big problem, and Chinese people do not say anything so clearly, especially in the relationship, during the research. The superior/subordinate relationship cannot record faithfully. Maybe subordinates are too afraid to answer the truth. And even more, English is not my first English, many words we need to figure out how to express my view of points. 4. Conclusion 5. 8 summary This essay is mainly to show that how communication and leadershipwill affect the work in the organization. Different organization has their ownmanagement mode and their own culture. These are affecting the staff how to act in the company. According to the first part of communication, communication is basis skills in the human behavior. Communication process will show us the flow during two people communicates. Make the communication more effective is lead to the whole working flow more effective. However, there are some barriers to effective communication. Like filtering, selective perception. Emotions, information overload and so on. The next objective is leadership. Due to there is a big problem, about the relations. Due to in China, the employee will very afraid of the boss, so if the employers want to get the feedback is a very difficult thing. So the communication skill is necessary, but without the communication skill, what can the employer get the information from is also consider in this part. And what’s effect will the relationship come up with. Managers must not be a leadership, everyone can do. However, Jusco in China, most of people are Chinese. Leadership means that you are my boss, you are my superior, I need to receive you order to do the job. So leadership in this, there is a lot of value to have this research. The last part is how communication and leadership actually do in Jusco. How managers are good usage of these theories to manage Jusco working. 4. 2 Implications With the company growth up, and more and more employee will join with the company to help a company to give produce, and there will be one day the company become a global company then it will face the east and west different culture, and the relationship is not as simple as before, how can the employer deal with it. They need to use the tool of communication, and even developing their leadership to make he reach their personal goal. China is depending on relations, this is a marvel country. Communication is a good weapon to flight during in this society. Leadership is one person who cans good use at communications and he has the ability to gather some people to achieve the goals. This is difference to order people to do the job. 4. 3 Further research opportunities Actually in China, relation is important thing. This is not only communication nor does leadership make it success. Every foreign company, need to do some research about relations. If you control this, you can live really well in China.
